MSRP: Free

Platform: Browser-based

Release: 2009

Despite what the picture above would like you to believe, Copy Cat is sadly no longer available for iOS. In 2010, Publishers Clearing House purchased Candystand.com at some point, revamped the site, taking down a lot of the fantastic games that Candystand.com created.  However, with a little Google-fu, I managed to find a browser-based version of this game still out there.

It appears that all of these games have a similar bug that, upon returning to the main menu, the sounds go all wacky. So, um, try not to do that.

The premise is simple: using stencils and paint, make the canvas on the left look just like the canvas on the right.  I don’t believe you’re ever limited in the number of stencils you can use, and if you oops it up, you can always reset the level. Paint will cover the entire canvas except where you’ve placed the stencil. There are 30 levels, and they keep getting more involved the further you progress.

You don’t have duplicate it precisely – the number in red at the top will show you how close, percentage-wise, you need to get to beat the level.  However, if you’re a perfectionist who isn’t satisfied unless you hit 100%, be aware that meeting or exceeding the target will automatically complete the level.

The first few levels serve as a mini-tutorial.  Your overall progress is automatically saved, but I wouldn’t count on it lasting through cleared cookies without creating an account. You will need to think outside the box for some levels, but overall, it’s a lovely, relaxing, free puzzler.
