Scribblenauts Unlimited is the fourth title in the Scribblenauts franchise, but the first that was available on PC, significantly increasing the potential audience for series. It’s fairly unique in its gameplay of posing problems to the player, and letting them solve them in (nearly) any way they can think of by allowing the player to create objects by typing them into existence.

The tutorial level is fairly restrictive, but it does its job just fine – you know exactly what needs to happen to the pig to get the desired result.  However, this may put some players in the mindset of finding the most logical solution going forward, when the game really shines when you attempt to find the most out there answers to some pretty simple problems.

As you wander around fixing things, you will be reward with Starites & Starite Shards as well as other unlockables.  Starites can be turned in at the farm where you begin the game in order to unlock more areas, with the ultimate goal of collecting, well, pretty much everything.

You will likely get as much out of Scribblenauts Unlimited as you choose to put into it. Playing it like a straight up puzzle game will give you an enjoyable experience, but if you’re willing to think outside the box, you will be able to fully appreciate how wacky the game can get.  There’s about 8 – 12 hours of raw gameplay here, but you can’t deny how the openness of the game allows for massive amounts of replay value – the game even includes a reset feature for each area in case something goes horribly awry.
